Cocktail. Food and Drink. Bad Moms Film Review.

A night out with my Best Friend.

For my best friends birthday I wanted to take her out for a night out and what better way than to watch the latest release film Bad Moms and then write a little film review.

We started with a cheeky Cocktail and then headed to watch the film.

The pressure was on as I basically told my BF that I was taking her out and this is what we were watching.  I had seen the trailer and I laughed so loud that I was desperate to see the film.  We were really hoping it wasn’t going to be one of those films where you have all the ‘best bits’ already shown in the trailer and the film is actually not that good.

This film is FUNNY!

We needn’t have worried.  This film is genius!  We were laughing along with the other cinema goers from the start right through to the finish, my stomach hurt from laughing.

As a parent I think we have all experienced the Bitchiness from those ‘Clicky Playground Groups’ and whilst this film takes that Bitchiness and Clickiness and makes it extreme, so many of the situations I found myself nodding to and wanting to shout ‘YES’ out loud (Obviously I didn’t well maybe a little).

The cast is led by Mila Kunis, Kathryn Hahn and Kristen Bell and these ‘Bad Moms’ are going to take you through a journey where you are going to be dancing on the table at your next party (Whilst the scene in the supermarket was hilarious it is something that is super extreme and would result in you being arrested for sure *not recommended).

More importantly you will come out thinking (especially if you are a parent) that you know what, you are doing OK and maybe just occasionally hi-five other cool Mums.  You never know what struggles they are going through and looking through the smiles they may just be having a shitty day and need some support.

This film has also genuinely made me feel that I need to sort out my figure and my wardrobe because Amy (Played by Mila Kunis) is a not just a Bad Mom she is pretty damn hot.

*Making a mental note to myself that the healthy eating and yoga will eventually pay off and my figure will reappear again*

Warning.  House envy coming up.

Special mention goes to the houses in this film.  DREAM HOME alert.  Not entirely sure how a single mum of two on a part-time job can afford the house, the cars and the lifestyle, HOWEVER its a film (a good one at that) and I would love a house like the ones shown in this film.

I have spent some time reading some really bitchy reviews of this film.  COME ON!  It’s a film.  We all want to fantasise about that dream home and lifestyle.  Isn’t that what film is about?  To create a visual, a dream a situation.  This film is a comedy of extremes and I loved it.  It didn’t occur to me that everyone in the film appeared to be rich.  What struck home was the struggles, the emotions that EVERYONE as a parent goes through.  The façade that you put on when you talk to other Mums at the school, the pressure you feel to keep up with the next task put on you by the school is real no matter how rich or poor you are.

Who hasn’t helped their kids with homework and spent ages trying to create the ‘perfect’ lunch for their children? Hands up those of us who are juggling a million things just to get their children to all the extra activities and club?

Recently I have had such a stressful time juggling that I spent the night vomiting after Archie’s Thursday night dance, I had probably forgotten to eat!  It happens.  You just put a smile on your face and keep going because that is what Mums do!

That is why this film BAD MOMS is getting a 5 star Film Review from me.

It is also why I am going to try to see it again in the cinema and I will be buying it on DVD.  It is going to be the turn to DVD to put on when you have had a really pants day and need that laugh.

Well worth going to see and it has given me a chance to give it a really good Film Review.

So what’s is ‘Bad Moms’ about and the blurb?

When three overworked and under-appreciated moms are pushed beyond their limits, they ditch their conventional responsibilities for a jolt of long overdue freedom, fun, and comedic self-indulgence.

*This fact has made me very happy and smug:

Written and Directed byJon Lucas and Scott Moore (Who were responsible for The Hangover films)

*When I got home and was telling Hubby about the film, I said it really reminded me of The Hangover films not in story line, just the feel of the film. So when I started researching for this blog and saw that the writers and directors in fact made The Hangover and all the follow up films.  I felt that happy smug feeling that I was right.

Go and book up and watch the film…

That is my recommendation anyway.  This review is my opinion, but I would love to hear what you think of the film.
